This Week in Career Advice: 5 Stylish Resume Designs

We’re all familiar with the plain-jane resume templates found in Word. Unfortunately, since we’re all familiar with them, using them increases your chances of having a resume that looks like everybody else’s.

If you want your resume to stand out among the thousands of other pages of single columns and Times New Roman, check out these new resources.

Google Docs (FREE)

If you want to be on the safer side while still changing things up, check out Google Docs’ free resume templates. The templates range from boring to interesting, with soft uses of colour and layout.

Looking for something more daring?

Graphic River (PREMIUM)

Graphic River is part of Envato, a larger marketplace of digital goods that offers everything from websites themes, video files, to code snippets and more. Their resume section is impressive, offering almost 4,000 different options. These templates are professionally designed by independent graphic designers from across the world and feature bold colors and daring fonts. Prices range from $4 to $20.

Creative Market (PREMIUM)

Creative Market is similar to the site above, but its offerings tend to be a little less aggressive with fewer templates designed for European buyers who make use of professional headshots on their A4-sized resumes. Prices range from $2 to $20.

Canva (FREE)

Canva is a mixture of the above three options. Like Google Docs, it’s a free cloud-based software that anyone with an internet connection can access, but it also offers several artist-created templates that range from clean to bold, like Graphic River and Creative Market.
